Low-Impedance Primary Collimators with BPMs (TCPPMs)

Description

Four primary collimators of IR7, the horizontal and the vertical ones of both beams, will be replaced by low-impedance collimators with jaws made of MoGr. The news collimators use the latest design that includes in-jaw beam position monitors. The construction of new primary collimators is part of the consolidation of the IR7 system, necessary to ensure high-efficiency operations in Run 3 and in the HL-LHC era. The HL-LHC-WP5 also contribute to the constructions of these collimators through a partial funding of the active material.

The TCPPMs are produced through a construction contract in industry: 4 devices for the tunnel and 1 spare.
